Vetafarm Cavy Origins is a veterinarian-formulated, completely balanced pellet diet designed specifically for the long-term health of guinea pigs. It is particularly noted for containing stabilised Vitamin C, which is essential as guinea pigs cannot produce their own and require daily intake to prevent deficiencies such as scurvy. Developed in Australia from fresh, wholesome ingredients like fescue and lucerne hay, Cavy Origins uses extrusion cooking to ensure maximum digestibility, dental health, and food safety. The formula includes natural prebiotics (chicory root) to encourage beneficial gut flora and supports immune function.
Ingredients:
Made from Australian fescue and lucerne hay, oats, and soybean, the formula contains no artificial fillers. It is enriched with essential minerals, amino acids, and stabilised Vitamin C.
Directions:
Maintenance: 1/8 to 1/4 cup daily.
Growth/Breeding: Provide free access to pellets.
Support: Always provide unlimited fresh hay and clean water.
Keep in a cool, dry place <30°C and seal after opening. Gradually switch to new food to avoid digestive upset.
