Vetafarm South American Mix (often referred to as South American Pellets) is a veterinarian-formulated, extruded diet specifically designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of South American parrots such as Conures, Amazons, and Macaws. Formulated by avian veterinarians, this diet is tailored for both breeding and companion South American species. These birds often require higher levels of fat and specific amino acids due to their natural diets in the wild. The pellets are extrusion cooked, which improves safety and digestibility while ensuring birds cannot selectively eat certain ingredients.
Ingredients:
Whole Australian grains (wheat, corn, rice) and soybean. Added Fats & Enrichment: Fresh peanuts and almonds, potato starch, and vegetable oils. Gut Health: Chicory root extract (prebiotic). Vitamins & Minerals: A comprehensive blend including Vitamins A, B-complex, C, D3, E, H, and K, plus essential minerals like calcium, iron, and zinc.
Directions:
Feeding Rate: Approximately 8g of pellets per 100g of bodyweight daily. Provide in a clean, dry dish and replace immediately if the feed becomes contaminated or wet.
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. This diet is not suitable for Toucans or Mynas, as they have different iron requirements.
